Both fruits are extremely rich in vitamin C, but lemons have twice the amount of the vitamin in them. The average lemon contains 53 mg. of vitamin C and the average lime contains 29 mg. of vitamin C. Lemons are also richer in folate and potassium, but limes have more vitamin A.

The fruits contain limonoids which fight carcinogenic compounds in the body. They’re both alkalizing in nature, which means that they’re efficient at removing toxins from your body.

According to doctors, toxin accumulation in your body can often result in inflammation and cause further complications and health conditions such as type-2 diabetes and heart disease.
